Microsoft PowerPoint 2003 Tutorial:

Continuing on with our series of tutorials, we bring you the Microsoft Powerpoint tutorial. This tutorial will show you the basic steps to create a powerpoint presentation. We use Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 with this tutorial, but you can use this version or any other version after 2003 (versions before this one are usually very similar to follow the steps) - just keep in mind that every new version brings new upgrades but the basic steps and functionalities stay the same.

Creating a Powerpoint Presentation:

1. Go to File>New>From Design Templates, here you can select a template from a series of presentation options that will appear on your screen. Presentation templates come equipped with background colors and designs to make your presentation more appealing.

6. Click on the top box and enter the title for this slide. Click on the second box to enter the content in bullet points. The template comes formatted, but you can format the fonts (i.e., change color, size, bold) and paragraph style however you may want by using the Format menu options or the formatting toolbar icons located on the upper left hand corner of your screen.

Short Cuts:

Here are some pointers that will save you time and help you use the program more efficiently.

• You can insert text boxes, pictures, diagrams, graphs, arrows, lines; format the color and size of fonts, the style of paragraphs, and insert different shapes by using the Drawing toolbar. Go to View>Toolbars and select Drawing toolbar, the toolbar will appear on the right hand bottom of the screen. You can click on the different icons to do the same things you can with Insert menu options.

• You can copy and paste slides, move the order of slides, and delete slides easily by using the Slide Sorter view. To access this view, go to view> slide sorter and all the slides will appear on your screen minimized. Click on the slide you may want to copy and just select copy and paste. You can also click on any slide in this view and drag it to another position within the presentation.
