In this short tutorial, I will show you how to create your own business PowerPoint presentation template, so whenever you need to present or email a professional looking proposal or presentation, you will have a customized PowerPoint template tailored specifically to your business. By the way, also check out the letterhead template tutorial and business invoice template tutorial if you want to see how easy and quickly these templates can be done.

Step 1. Go to Start and open Microsoft PowerPoint 2007, then go to the windows start button and go to New, then on the left hand side of the pop up window, under “Templates” select “Installed Themes” and on the right hand side of the pop up window select “”Equity” theme and hit the “Create” button.

Step 2. We selected this particular installed themed presentation template because it has the colors for the fictitious company we are using, Carmen’s Restaurant. But you should pick whatever comes closer to your business look and feel. We like working with installed themes because as you will see they are easy to customize. Once the “Equity” theme presentation opens, start customizing it by adding the name of the business, logo and any other special feature and/or information that every page of the presentation should have. In this tutorial, this is how our template will look like.

Step 3. Next, go to the window button, and select “Save As,” then click “Other Formats,” and select “Save as type,” go down and select “PowerPoint Template (.potx ) ” and hit the save button. It will save the document as a template and place it in the new template folder within Microsoft template folder in your pc.

Step 4. Now anytime you need to create a presentation for your company, just open Microsoft PowerPoint, click on the window button, go to “New” and under “Templates” select your template- in this tutorial we would look for “CarmenrestaurantlPresentation” template.
